Police intensify search for man who raped his 90-year-old mother

Detectives have launched a manhunt for a man accused of raping his 90-year-old mother on the eve of Mashujaa day in Mbooni, Makueni county.

According to a statement by the Director of Criminal information today, (DCI) the suspect, Patrick Mumo, aged 45 is alleged to have forcefully entered  his mother’s bedroom at around 8pm before subjecting her to the revolt ing act then went into hiding.

“She tearfully narrated her harrowing ordeal in the hands of her younger son who subjected her to the beastly act, ” read part of the statement.

Shockingly the woman in her sunset years was found by her eldest son writhing while complaining of waist pains. She was immediately rushed to Kisau sub- county hospital in serious condition and is currently undergoing treatment.

“Doctors at the medical facility confirmed that indeed she had been raped,” Kinoti said as he appealed to the suspect to surrender himself at the earliest opportunity before the long arm of the law catches up with him.

While concluding the statement, the DCI appealed to the members of the public who may have any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to contact his office via the hotline number.
