Most women regret having sex before the age of 16, according to a report published in the British Medical Journal. The study, conducted in New Zealand, found that the average age of intercourse for women in that country was 16, yet 54 percent of women wished they had waited longer. The most common reason for loss of virginity was ‘being curious about what it would be like’. Nearly a third of women who had sex before 16 contracted sexually transmitted diseases. Only 16 percent of men wished they had waited longer before having sex.
