TV anchor Anjlee Gadhvi is dead

  • PublishedJanuary 10, 2020

K24’s Anjlee Gadhvi is dead. The news anchor passed away on Friday, January 10, at the Aga Khan Hospital following a long battle with liver cancer.

The anchor has been in and out of hospital since she was diagnosed with the disease in 2013. At one point she seemed to be making good progress but had a relapse.

Her boss Peter Opondo and many other Kenyans have taken to social media to convey their messages of condolences. Peter hailed her as a strong lady who insisted on coming to work even when she seemed weak.

Oh my friend @AnjleeGadhvi You fought that cancer beast with all your might. You did it for your kids, husband. Never lost hope. You always smiled through the pain & insisted on coming to work even at your weakest points. We believed you were winning…until now! RIP my friend.

One of the areas she loved to touch on in her reporting is the cancer scourge and the plight of those it affected.

May her soul rest in peace.
