5 Ingredients to Boost Your Immune System After the Holidays

5 Ingredients to Boost Your Immune System After the Holidays
  • PublishedDecember 27, 2025

There’s no single guide on how to readjust eating habits after the holidays; there are so many options to consider, but here are ingredients that will boost your immune system after the holidays.

Ginger

Despite the spicy taste, ginger is an ingredient that adds flavor to our lives. It can be used to season meat, vegetables, and even hot beverages. After heavy meals and some much-deserved snacking, our digestive tracts can get thrown off balance. With ginger in the picture, not only do you realign your digestive duties, but you also give your immune system a jump start.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a jack of all trades; not only is it a highly potent ingredient when it comes to skincare, but its anti-inflammatory properties extend to the whole body. Not only that, but it contains curcumin, which boosts secretion of neurotransmitters (serotonin and dopamine) in the brain.

Garlic

Garlic plays a large role in our culinary lives. Whether it’s added to rice or ground and used to season meat, that’s not all there is to this ingredient. Garlic is an antibiotic; it contains allicin, a chemical that is released when any physical action—such as chewing—is applied upon its cloves.

Allicin enhances the fortitude of white blood cells, which in turn fight harder against infections, i.e., the flu. Which is why it is recommended to activate the allicin 10 minutes before use.

Lemon & Citrus

Apart from giving pastries an aromatic allure and being responsible for some of the best beverages known to man. Lemon and citrus are responsible for the production of vitamin C, which increases white blood cell production, which is key in fighting off infections.

Spinach

Keto, omnivore, or vegan. Whatever diet you follow, leafy greens are instrumental in the development and maintenance of the human body. Not only is spinach high in fiber, but it is also packed with vitamins C and A. Making spinach a part of your meal gives it a creative and healthy spin, and it is a surefire way of giving back to the body this holiday season.

When we think of health, the food we eat doesn’t lag far behind. With these five ingredients in the mix, the holidays are just the beginning of a healthier version of ourselves.
