Bite Me: I am a HEALTHY GUAVA
Guava is a tropical fruit that looks like a pear, with a green or yellow skin and pinkish or white flesh and small seeds. It is very rich in Vitamin C, with about five times more than that found in an orange.
The guava fruit contains several minerals such as caretenoids and polyphenole which act as anti-oxidants. They support the immune system by eliminating free radicals and protecting body cells against damage. These powerful anti-oxidants help prevent some cancers like those of the breast and skin.
Guava has several minerals like potassium and copper. Potassium transmits brain signals and regulates the
heart function while copper supports the vital organs, bones and tissues and helps in the
breakdown of enzymes. It also contains Vitamin A and B, calcium, phosphorous, iron, folic acid and fibre. As it’s rich in dietary fibre, guava helps in weight loss by reducing the absorption of saturated fats and cholesterol. It also reduces prolonged menstruation, high blood pressure, and congestion of the lungs, asthma and scurvy.
Add the guava fruit to your range of fruits and eat it as often as you can, especially when in season.
