In mid-October 2024, the family suffered its first major blow when 31year-old Rodney Kili died in a workplace accident on a leased farm in Moiben Constituency, Uasin Gishu. According to accounts, Rodney was calibrating a planter while it was in motion during seeding operations when he slipped and fell, succumbing to his injuries.
Rodney was described as a passionate young farmer working alongside his father, George Kili, a renowned figure in Kenyan agriculture. His death sent ripples through the local farming community, with many praising his dedication and innovative approach to modern farming practices.
