Early Periods, menopause linked to Heart disease

Women who started menstruating at the age of 11 years or younger or entered menopause before 47  face higher risk  of heart disease and stroke according to a study that was published on Tuesday.

Data was drawn by scientists from a survey in Britain that was monitored and had tested quarter a million of the women from 2006 to 2016. When the survey began the average age of the women was 56 years and out of that four -fifths had been pregnant and nearly half had two children.

The research was able to find out that on average they had started there periods at 13 and they had gotten their first child at 26.

By 2016 two thirds of the women were in menopause  at an average age of 50, those who went through menopause before the age of 47 the risk of cardiovascular diseases rose  by 33 percent and for stroke alone by 42 percent.

Things like miscarriages, stillbirths , undergoing a hysterectomy and bearing children at a young age were also noted to elevate the risks of cardiovascular problems later in life.
