  • PublishedNovember 8, 2018

Kenyans can now verify legitimate medical practioners using their monile phones.

This comes after Kenya Medical Practioners and Dentist Board (KMPDB) unveiled a security code 20547 in a bid to curb quack practioners in the medical industry.

The board also proposes to double its routine crackdown on quack doctors and health facilities including clinics, dispensaries and pharmacies.

Mr. Daniel Yumbya, CEO KMPDB also proposes the fine on offenders to be increased to Ksh. 5 million as opposed to the current Ksh. 3000 stipulated in  CAP 253 Section 19 of the KMPDB Act.

”We are proposing five million shillings so that if you are caught, you are not qualified it is give million,” said Mr. Yumbya during an interview with a local media house.
