Rosemary Oduor appointed acting KPLC Managing Director
The Kenya Power and Lighting Company(KPLC) Board of Directors has appointed Engineer Rosemary Oduor as the new acting Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer of the company after the resignation of Bernard Ngugi.
Speaking while announcing Oduor’s appointment, KPLC Board of Directors Chairperson Vivienne Yeda said, “Rosemary has a wide experience in power engineering and management having joined the company in 1991 and served in various senior positions.”

Eng. Oduor has worked with the power company for the last 30 years. Before her appointment, she was the company’s General Manager in charge of commercial services and sales.
She holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Communications Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration.
The former MD, Bernard Ngugi, who was appointed KPLC’s Managing Director in 2019 resigned before the end of his term which was to end in October 2022. The board has not given any reasons for his resignation.
Engineer Oduor becomes the 4th Managing director of Kenya power since 2017.
