You probably grew up hearing that the more sex a woman has, the ‘looser’ she becomes. The word ‘loose’ is not a very attractive word to describe a woman, to begin with. Secondly, sex, contrary to popular belief, no matter how frequent, does not loosen the vagina.

According to Medical News Today, the vagina is made up of elastic muscles that can stretch and return to their normal shape. During arousal and sex, the muscles stretch so as to enable penetration.  After sex, however, they relax and assume their previous shapes. This process repeats itself every time a woman has sex.

Like a mouth

The process is likened to the mouth which stretches when you yawn or eat, but when it closes, it returns to its normal shape. It would be crazy to say that the more you eat or yawn, the wider your mouth stretches. The same applies to the vagina.

Sexual positions may sometimes make the vagina feel tighter or less tight. Couples should settle on sex positions that they both find comfortable and satisfying. They should also go out of their way and try different positions in order to find what works for them.

Given that no two bodies are the same, sex with one partner might not feel the same as with a different partner.

There is no evidence thus far, that indicates that too much sex causes the vagina to loosen.
