A suspected gangster, Abdallah Swaleh alias Vumbi, has been gunned down in Mombasa with four others escaping. It is claimed that the suspects were armed with machetes and attacking residents of Wa Maka area.

“The suspects were attacking the residents of Wa Maka with machetes and on ambushing them and telling them to surrender they started attacking the police that is when we shot and killed one of them with the others escaping,” revealed Likoni OCPD Benjamin Rotich.

Two pangas were recovered from the scene and the body of the suspect taken to Coast General Hospital.

Abdallah Swaleh among other suspects have been on the watch list for quite sometime with the police launching a crackdown last month to bring them to book.
