Western Union and Amazon unveil payment method
Kenyans can now pay for products purchased on Amazon using Kenyan shillings.
This is after Amazon and Western Union launched a payment service to enable this service as well as a move aimed at widening Amazon’s customer base in the country by bringing on board customers who were locked out by currency hitches on payment platforms.
In order to use this payment service, customers should select Pay Code on their Amazon website. Pay Code is Amazon’s local-currency payment method for select destinations and eligible items available for international shipping.
” We are helping to unlock access to Amazon.com for customers who need and want Items that can only be found online in many Parts of the World,” said Khalid Fellahi the General Manager of Western Union Digital.
” Amazon is committed to enabling customers anywhere in the world to shop on our platform, and our platform, and a big part of that is to allow customers to pay for their cross-border online purchases in a way that is most convenient for them,” said Ben Volk, Director, Payment Acceptance and Experience at Amazon.
