Caroline Kangogo's postmortem to be conducted today

Chief government pathologist, Johansen Oduor, is expected to conduct a postmortem on the body of ex-police constable Caroline Kangogo after her body was moved to the Moi Teaching Referral Hospital (MTRH) funeral home early Tuesday morning. The postmortem was scheduled to happen on Friday last week but was postponed in the last minute.

The postmortem will help determine what caused the former police officer’s death. Kangogo was found dead in a bathroom at her parent’s home in Elgeyo Marakwet on July 16 with police ruling her death as suicide through self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the head.

Before her death, Kangogo had been on the run for days as authorities looked for her in connection to the deaths of colleague John Ongweno and businessman Peter Ndwiga.

Her family is expected to set new burial dates for her once the postmortem is complete.
