Dr. Peter Ngumba, a passionate advocate for DNA testing, recently shared a deeply personal experience that has touched many parents across the country. In an emotional video, he revealed that he is not the biological father of his two-year-old child.
“My child is two years old, and I am not the father,” Dr. Ngumba said on a tiktok video. “On her birthday, I bought her cake, gave her flowers, and gave her 2,000 shillings to commemorate her two years. I promised to do this every two years until she turns 25. That was the plan.”
However, the joyful celebrations took a different turn when he decided to conduct a DNA test. “I told the mother about the test. When the results came out, I realized I was not the biological father. All along, I had told myself I wanted a daughter, and I wanted her to look like this one.”
Despite the painful revelation, Dr. Ngumba has chosen to focus on the love and care he has provided. “When the mother told me she was pregnant, I did not believe it at first, but I didn’t deny it. I have taken the child to clinics, bathed her, and cherished the moments when she calls me ‘baba.’ Right now, I’m just sad, but I urge parents: go do that DNA test.”
Dr. Ngumba’s story is reminder that parenthood is complex, and love doesn’t always align with biology. For many parents, the emotional connection formed through care, guidance, and presence often defines the essence of family, even in the face of challenging truths.
