KNEC Releases 2025 KPSEA & KILEA Results: Step-by-Step Guide to Checking Your Child’s Report
Yesterday the KPSEA (Kenya Primary Education) and KILEA (Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment) results were released by KNEC. Here is how to access them:
What is KPSEA?
KPSEA is a national exam for grade 6 learners that acts as the replacement for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, which ended on November 1st, 2023, after 38 years of implementation.
KPSEA took place from October 27th to October 30th of 2025. It is organised into formative and summative tests. The formative assessments take place during grades 4, 5, and 6 (contribute to 60%), while the summative tests count for 40% of the grade and take place as the final exam for grade 6.
KILEA
KILEA exams took place from 27th October to 31st October 2025. KILEA acts as the national exam for students who are transitioning from intermediate to pre-vocational levels. It is not tied to a specific age and can be taken at any level.
How to access KPSEA results
To access KPSEA results, visit the KNEC 2025 KPSEA Results portal to access academic reports and input your child’s assessment number and at least one name. After this, parents or students need only to accept privacy, accept the notice displayed by the portal, and simply search for their reports.
How to access KILEA reports
KILEA candidates and their family members will be required to visit their respective schools to check their performance reports, as advised by KNEC.
How schools can access the reports
To access school reports for individual KILEA and KPSEA students. Visit the KNEC CBA portal and log in with a username and password; the students’ data will be visible from the portal’s dashboard. KPSEA and KILEA are both pivotal milestones for Kenyan youth; these exams not only mark the transition to advanced education systems, but they also provide a sense of accomplishment in their lives.
This sets the next steps for these youth as Kenya’s future. In 2025 alone, 1,298,089 registered and sat for the KPSEA national examination, while a total of 1,130,587 sat for KILEA.
