Mulamwah and Carol Sonnie Choose Peaceful Co-Parenting for Keilah

Mulamwah and Carol Sonnie Choose Peaceful Co-Parenting for Keilah

After four years of highly publicised disagreements and emotional exchanges played out in the public eye, comedian and content creator Mulamwah and his former partner, Carol Sonnie, have taken a significant step forward, for the sake of their daughter, Keilah.

The two have reached a peaceful agreement to co-parent, choosing to set aside past conflicts and prioritise their shared responsibility as parents. In a journey that has often been marked by tension, misunderstandings, and public scrutiny, this decision signals a shift toward maturity, healing, and child-centred parenting.

Speaking during the CS Shows, Carol Sonnie clarified the new direction of their co-parenting relationship, emphasising responsibility over past conflict.

“Keilah is not dealing with Mulamwah. Keilah is dealing with Davy,” she said, referring to Mulamwah by his given name. Carol added that Davy has now agreed to fully take responsibility for their daughter.

Mulamwah echoed this sentiment, stating that he has now been allowed to step into his role more intentionally.

“Davy has finally been let in to take responsibility for Keilah,” he said, signalling a mutual understanding between the two.

For many parents, co-parenting after separation is rarely straightforward. Emotions run high, unresolved issues linger, and when disagreements are amplified on social media, the pressure can be overwhelming. Mulamwah and Carol’s story reflects a reality familiar to many families: that the end of a romantic relationship does not end the responsibility of raising a child together.

By choosing peace, the two are acknowledging an important truth: children thrive best in environments where parents communicate, cooperate, and shield them from conflict. Co-parenting is not about who “won” or who was right in the past; it is about creating stability, emotional safety, and consistency for the child.

Their agreement centres on raising Keilah with mutual respect and shared involvement, ensuring that she has access to both parents without being caught in the middle of adult disagreements. This approach allows a child to feel loved, secure, and supported, even when parents are no longer together.

For parents watching from the sidelines, this moment offers an important lesson: it is possible to move from conflict to collaboration. Healing does not always mean forgetting the past, but it does mean choosing a better future for your child. Putting ego aside, seeking common ground, and committing to respectful communication can transform a difficult co-parenting situation into a functional one.

As Mulamwah and Carol Sonnie step into this new chapter, their focus on Keilah serves as a timely reminder to parents everywhere, peaceful co-parenting is not just a gift to the child but also a powerful step toward personal growth and emotional freedom.

At ParentsAfrica, we continue to encourage conversations that place children’s well-being at the centre, reminding parents that even after separation, partnership in parenting remains possible.
